Kipper

KipperI'm 61 and been buying, collecting and selling vinyl records for over 50 yrs. Over the years, I have dealt with many of the "major record collectors", that deal with 50's 60's Rock and Roll, R & B, Soul (including the "new genre, Nothern Soul) as well as most other genres.

I have sold records at most of the major record shows over the last 20 yrs, mostly in Austin Texas, but have made the trek to Chicago, Vegas and LA as well. I have been "acknowledged"(in their various books), by both Tim Neely and Jerry Osbourne, for contributions in filling gaps in various artists discographies as well as introducing many "previously unknown" discs. I have also been acknowledged by the RCS(Rockin Country Style" for similar contributions

I was a major contributor to the "original" "ASKME.COM" web site, as well as a few Yahoo.com groups dealing with Rock and roll music. This led to Mr. Don Mclaughlin, "Picture Sleeve GURU" in the US, to visit me and purchase quite a few items, when I was living in San Antonio Tx.

Presently, I have in the neighborhood of 25,000 45's( mostly 50'-early 70s), about 8000 LPs(fewer than 1000 being 50's/early 60s--- They go fast!! lol)and 1000 or so 78s and 10 in lps. As I am reaching the age of being able to draw Social Security, along with my retired Army pay, I expect to(hope to anyway) sell off all my holdings, retire, and spend the rest of my days, fishing and drinkin, like an ole man should!!!

*** A Note From Doc ***

I have known Kipper for over 15 years now. He was one of the first truly knowledgeable people, in regards to music, that I had the pleasure of meeting online. We worked at several question/answer 'expert' sites together, usually answering questions about 'Oldies' artists. Kip would be the slightly older brother that I never had...whereby he would get the new records and play them to death in his room...and I was allowed to listen! LOL!

Kipper has probably touched more vinyl than I have in his lifetime...which is a good feat considering I ran a record distributorship and several retail record stores! LOL

When it comes to the early history of rock and pop...Kipper is, front and center, one of the most knowledgeable people I have EVER had chance to hang out with and learn from and add to my own knowledge!
